Sandwich and FriesThe business district in Burien, Washington, has some great spots for lunch. Whether it’s for a business lunch or you just want to grab a quick bite, there’s a variety of options. Here are four of Burien’s best spots for lunch.

  1. Burien Fish House

The Burien Fish House is a casual restaurant on South West 153rd Street that specializes in fish and seafood. The tasteful decor is appropriately fishy and there’s an awesome aquarium. Some outdoor seating is available when the Seattle weather allows. The fish house is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

On the fish and chip menu, the options include cod, halibut, salmon, prawns, clam strips, and calamari. You can also choose from a variety of fish tacos, sandwiches, soups, and sides. Specials include crab cake, tuna melt, a colossal shrimp cocktail, and mac and cheese with shrimp, Dungeness crab, or lobster.

  1. The Greek House

The family-owned and operated Greek House on South West 153rd Street offers authentic Greek cuisine in a comfortable and homey environment. You’ll always receive a warm welcome and traditional Greek hospitality. They open for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday

The lunch menu features light bites, such as calamari, a dip sampler, keftedes, and dolmathakia valantzi, and you can choose from a variety of salads, soups, and sides. For entrees, you can have the souvlaki plate, falafel, gyros, fish and chips, or My Big Fat Greek Burger. They also serve a great selection of Greek themed specialty cocktails.

  1. Classic Eats

Classic Eats on South West 152nd Street offers a premiere yet casual dining experience and specializes in classic American dishes, with a twist. The bar and restaurant are decorated with American memorabilia, paintings of screen and music stars, and classic cars. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. on the weekends.

Lunch specials include a selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads. The extensive menu features appetizers like habanero mango glazed wings, meatloaf sliders, and barbecue pulled pork taquitos. Main meals include burgers, meats, chicken dishes, pasta, seafood, and salads.

  1. Eat Time

If it’s Chinese food you crave, Eat Time on Ambaum Boulevard South West serves authentic Cantonese cuisine. It’s a cute place with a bright and cheery ambiance that is enhanced by the cheerfulness of the staff. Eat Time opens at 11 a.m. every day except Tuesday. You’ll find most of your favorite dishes on the menu with a selection of pork, beef, chicken, and seafood choices.

Some more unusual options are also available such as baked spaghetti, honey walnut prawns, and a variety of dishes cooked in a clay pot. The house specialty is duck tongue, a rare find. For vegetarians, the menu has a whole page of tofu dishes, as well as the regular vegetable choices. Watch out for specials like the fresh lotus root with dried squid and peanuts.

These restaurants offer a variety of cuisine and there is sure to be something in the Burien Business District to suit every taste.
