The 2024 Toyota Highlander fits the bill if you’re looking for a safe, reliable midsize SUV with seating for up to eight. This three-row option offers a wide range of comfort, tech, and safety features, making it a popular pick for families. Explore the five trim levels of the Highlander so you can test drive your favorite model at your local Toyota dealer.

1. LE

Each Highlander trim is equipped with a 265-horsepower turbo-four engine that delivers 310 pound-feet of torque. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The base model also incorporates an array of standard driver assistance tech including lane trace assist, auto high beams, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning with auto emergency braking, and more.

The Highlander SE offers generous standard features including remote keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power liftgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and three-zone auto climate control. As for tech, the entry-level trim features a 7-inch driver info screen paired with an 8-inch touchscreen, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a hotspot, a six-speaker stereo with satellite radio, and five USB ports.

2. XLE

The XLE trim adds a power-adjustable passenger seat, synthetic leather upholstery, chrome-painted interior door handles, second-row sunshades, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and wireless charging. This model also features a moonroof with power tilt and sliding functionality and a hands-free power liftgate.

Exterior upgrades include both front and rear mudguards along with silver-painted roof rails. Second-row captain’s chairs give the Highlander XLE seating for seven instead of eight passengers as in the base model.

3. XSE

The XSE model has a distinctive appearance inside and out, including a gray metallic rear lower bumper with chrome-plated spoiler trim as well as chrome-trimmed rocker panels and a black mesh front grille with a lower spoiler. You’ll enjoy aesthetic touches like 20-inch wheels and ambient interior lighting.

The Highlander XSE also adds dual-tip exhaust and black-finished roof rails. This trim seats seven with second-row captain’s chairs.

4. Limited

Step up to the Limited trim for amenities like real leather upholstery, a premium 11-speaker JBL audio system, and ventilated front seats. This model also includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen along with a household-style power outlet.

5. Platinum

At the top of the lineup, consider the fully loaded Highlander Platinum. It features a panoramic moonroof, a head-up display, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a surround-view camera system, and a heated second row.
