2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid in Burien. WA | Burien ToyotaThe 2019 Toyota Avalon hybrid has been fully redesigned to provide more space and advanced technological features. With three trim levels available — XLE, XSE, and Limited — offering increasing levels of equipment, there is sure to be a model to suit you. Here are some of the new and improved features of the Avalon hybrid.

Exterior Styling

At the front, XLE models feature the distinctive, aggressively styled grille with active shutter, tangential vents, automatic LED headlamps, and LED daytime running lights (DRL). The sleek profile is enhanced by silver 17-inch alloy wheels, body-color heated power door mirrors with integrated turn signals, and remote keyless illuminated entry. The LED tail lamps are connected by a continuous ribbon of light.

The sporty XSE has a piano-black mesh grille, 18-inch dark gray wheels, black door mirrors, black rear spoiler, and a power tilt and slide moonroof. The Limited trim adds fully integrated DRL, dynamic front and rear turn signals, 18-inch chrome wheels, and body-color door mirrors with memory.

Interior

The stylish interior of the XLE features SofTex simulated leather upholstery with eight-way adjustable front seats and 60/40 split folding rear seats, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel, a 7-inch driver information display, and a drive mode switch with EV, ECO, Normal, and Sport modes. The trunk has a capacity of 16.09 cubic-feet which can be increased with the rear seat backs folded.

XSE models add SofTex upholstery with suede inserts and heated front seats, aluminum trim, leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, and exclusive aluminum pedal covers. The Limited trim offers premium leather upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats with memory function and heated rear seats, real wood trim, heated steering wheel, a customizable color head-up display, and ambient lighting.

Technology

Featured in the Avalon hybrid is an Entune 3.0 infotainment system including a 9-inch touch screen, Bluetooth wireless technology, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, eight-speaker audio with satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot, auxiliary and USB media ports, and four USB charging ports. The XSE adds wireless smartphone charging, while the Limited trim has navigation and a premium 14-speaker audio with 1200-watt amplifier.

Power and Performance

Powering the Avalon is a hybrid 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine supported by twin electric motors producing a combined output of 215 horsepower. The front wheels are driven via an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The Avalon hybrid will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 7.8 seconds and return up to 44 mpg for combined city and highway driving.

Safety Features

All models feature Toyota Safety Sense which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Also standard are an automatic dimming rear-view mirror, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, hill start assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS with electronic brake force distribution, assisted braking, and smart stop technology.
